Adding the two inch hitch receiver to the back of your BMW X5 is gonna give you a few different options. It's gonna allow you to haul bike racks, which is what this owner of this vehicle's gonna be doing. You can haul cargo carriers if you need extra space on the carrier to make more room inside. Or you can pull small trailers, like if you want to tow a trailer, you will want to be sure to pick up a wiring kit so that you at least have four-pole wiring. more

Today we have a 2023 BMWX X5 and we're gonna be taking a look at and I'm gonna show you how to install the Stealth hitch with the tow package on your vehicle here. Now before we get into a bunch of the other details, I want to explain the first and foremost and most obvious differentiator from the Stealth hitch to all the other hitches available for the X5. The X5 is a very, very good looking car and the last thing you want is a hitch receiver tube sticking out the back, especially one of this length, it kind of takes away from the car, especially if this hitch goes in five years, starts to rust. Well the Stealth hitch is designed so that you turn a knob, you can pop that receiver tube out and then there's nothing left on your car to see. With the towing kit, you're gonna get a receiver tube, which is for accessories only, so bike racks or cargo carriers and then you're gonna get a ball mount which is the only thing you can tow a trailer with. more

Hello neighbors, it's Brad here at Etrailer, and today we're taking a look at installing the Draw-Tite Trailer Hitch Receiver on a 2019 BMW X5. Now this is what your hitch is gonna look like when it's installed on the BMW, and it's really nice that it's a two inch by two inch receiver tube opening, and that just means you're gonna have plenty of options when choosing bike racks, cargo carriers, or ball mounts. Another pro of this hitch is it's a hidden cross tube, in fact, this one bolts up behind the impact bar, so the only thing that you're gonna see, is the receiver tube opening and the safety chain loops. Now all of your accessories are going to stay in place with a five eighths pin and clip, and this is not included with the hitch, a lotta times when you pick up accessories, they'll have one included. But if you wanna pick up a locking version, we have plenty of those available here at Etrailer, which is really nice if you plan on leaving your accessories on the vehicle, you can lock it in place, and know that no one's gonna walk away with your accessories Rolled-style safety chain loop is nice and open, allowing us to put a standard S hook, or even a larger clevis style, when hooking up your trailer. And speaking of towing, this one's rated at some pretty serious numbers. more

Below it, we have the EcoHitch, and down here, we have the Stealth hitch, and before we get kinda too carried away, I would just want to suggest what hitch I would use and just brief reasoning why, and if I was looking to do a little bit of everything, pulling around some lighter-duty trailers, using bike racks and things like that, I think I would go with the EcoHitch and that's because I think it looks good and it's relatively capable, but if I was someone who was wanting to essentially just strictly tow a trailer, that weighed, had a little bit of weight to it, I think I would go with the Draw-Tite, and I say that because this one's gonna give us the highest weight capacities, but with that said, why don't we kinda elaborate a little bit more and kind of go over some of the differences and similarities that all these hitches have. more

Now here we have our trailer hitch actually installed on our BMW. And you can tell right away that it is a hidden cross too, and what does that mean Well, just gonna have this receiving end actually sticking out of the fascia as the rest of it actually leaves back where the original bumper support was. So that's really great because it gives you a nice clean OEM look, you don't have that bar hanging down and it's gonna be a great option for all your accessories. more

But before we do that, why don't we kind of check this out and talk about how it's gonna work with some accessories like bike racks, and maybe a few of the things that you're gonna need to be able to pull a trailer. First and foremost, I do want to address one of the big questions that we get asked a lot in regards to these X1s whenever you're putting a hitch on it. And that is, is the hitch gonna interfere with the hands-free lift gate assist And the answer is no, it's still going to work. Stealth Hitches Hidden Rack Receiver Installation - 2022 BMW X3- Video

Hello, neighbors. It's Brad here at etrailer, and today we're taking a look at the stealth hitch rack receiver on a 2022 BMW X3 30i Xdrive. Here we have our rack receiver installed and as you can tell, you can't even see it, and that's because it lives behind the rear fascia, and whenever you need to get the utility of having the hitch, when you're puttin' on your cargo carriers or bike racks, you grab this guy here and this just slides up into place. So then you're ready to hook up and put your accessories. Now, if you are planning on towing a trailer, this stealth hitch does not actually allow you to tow, it's not designed for that. But there is a heavy duty version that includes a ball mount and is actually going to let you tow and still have that stealth capabilities to take it off when you're done. more

Hi there BMW owners. Today in your 2017 BMW X3, we're gonna be taking a look at and showing you how to install CURT's class three two inch trailer hitch receiver. And this is what our hitch looks like when it's installed. The cross tube is gonna be completely hidden behind the fascia as it does install behind the fascia and the bumper beam there. The only thing you wouldn't be able to see here is the receiver tube at the back. And since it is tucked up fairly nice, you will be able to see it from an angle at the side but it doesn't track from the looks of the vehicle too much. more
